Geo-scientist Warns Himalayas Against Unchecked Infrastructure

Geo-scientist C.P. Rajendran has warned that Nepal's recent flash floods serve as a wake-up call against unchecked infrastructure development across the Himalayas. He noted that the region already faces unstable slopes and reduced river efficiency. This is largely due to development projects undertaken with insufficient consideration for ecological consequences, according to the adjunct professor at the National Institute of Advanced Studies, Bengaluru.
