प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने भाजपा कार्यकर्ताओं से कहा है कि वे महात्मा गांधी की तरह सामाजिक सुधारों को राजनीतिक गतिविधियों से जोड़ें, सिर्फ वोट बैंक की राजनीति से आगे बढ़ें। उन्होंने जोर दिया कि राजनीतिक कार्यकर्ताओं को गांधीजी से प्रेरणा लेकर सामाजिक बुराइयों से लड़ना चाहिए। मोदी ने स्वच्छता कर्मियों के सम्मान और ग्रामीण विकास जैसे कामों से सेवा करने की बात कही। उन्होंने महिलाओं की बढ़ती आत्मनिर्भरता और शहरी-ग्रामीण अंतर के कम होने का भी जिक्र किया।
