Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed officials to scrap newly proposed administrative rules for folk artists and reinstate the earlier centralised system. The decision follows concerns that the new framework, which aimed to divide the state for programme allocations and shift administrative functions to an educational institution, was disrupting artists' livelihoods. Artist groups had strongly opposed the changes, advocating for a continuation of the existing hassle-free, centralised mechanism.

उत्तराखंड के मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी ने अधिकारियों को निर्देश दिया है कि लोक कलाकारों के लिए नए प्रस्तावित प्रशासनिक नियमों को रद्द कर दिया जाए और पुरानी केंद्रीकृत व्यवस्था को फिर से लागू किया जाए। यह फैसला इसलिए लिया गया क्योंकि चिंताएं थीं कि नया ढांचा, जिसका उद्देश्य कार्यक्रम आवंटन के लिए राज्य को विभाजित करना और प्रशासनिक कार्यों को एक शैक्षणिक संस्थान में स्थानांतरित करना था, कलाकारों की आजीविका को बाधित कर रहा था। कलाकार समूहों ने इन बदलावों का कड़ा विरोध किया था और मौजूदा परेशानी मुक्त, केंद्रीकृत तंत्र को जारी रखने की वकालत की थी।
