सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने जोजरी-लूणी-बांडी नदी प्रणाली को प्रदूषित करने वाले अवैध खनन में अधिकारियों की भूमिका के लिए राजस्थान सरकार की कड़ी आलोचना की है। अदालत ने पाया कि उल्लंघन पाए जाने के बावजूद खनन पट्टों को नियमित किया गया था। इसने राज्य को पर्यावरणीय क्षति को दूर करने के लिए उपचारात्मक उपाय लागू करने में विफल रहने पर सीबीआई जांच की चेतावनी दी है। जोजरी नदी राजस्थान में लगभग 20 लाख लोगों के लिए एक महत्वपूर्ण जीवन रेखा है। अदालत ने पहले राज्य को अवैध निर्वहन बिंदुओं को ध्वस्त करने और जिम्मेदार पक्षों के खिलाफ कार्रवाई करने का आदेश दिया था।
