A 26-year-old man was stoned to death in Madurai after going to assist his brother whose motorcycle broke down. The deceased, Velmurugan, and his relatives were attacked with stones by a group following an altercation. Police arrested a man and his two sons after a mobile phone found at the scene helped identify them. The incident occurred on Thursday after the attackers allegedly argued with the victims at the Kulasekarapattinam Dasara festival. Velmurugan sustained fatal injuries, while his brother and another relative were injured.
