Police in Maharashtra's Thane district have rescued a 35-year-old TV actor after busting an alleged human trafficking and prostitution racket. Officials stated that women from the entertainment industry were being forced into the flesh trade. Acting on a tip-off, police sent a decoy customer to a hotel on Mira-Bhayander Road on October 8, leading to a raid and the arrest of a 39-year-old woman. The rescued actor, who works in Hindi serials and web series, has been placed under protective custody. A search is underway for the woman's male associate.
