Tata Motors' acquisition of Italian commercial vehicle maker Iveco has successfully cleared a crucial acceptance threshold of 87.8% of shares, surpassing the 80% requirement. This achievement allows Tata Motors to proceed with acquiring the remaining shares and delisting Iveco within one to two months. The deal, valued at approximately $3.9 billion, is the largest under Tata Group chairman N Chandrasekaran. An earlier shareholder approval reduced the squeeze-out threshold, facilitating this decisive step towards full ownership.
