Ludhiana Records 27 Farm Fires This Season, Lower Than Last Year

Ludhiana has recorded 27 farm fire incidents between September 15 and November 1, a decrease from 38 cases during the same period last year. While five adverse remarks have been made in revenue records, no FIRs have been registered yet. Environmental compensation of ₹25,000 has been imposed in four instances, with field teams confirming stubble burning at six out of twelve inspected locations. Officials attribute the decline to better returns from crop residue, machinery access, and awareness campaigns, though monitoring continues as harvesting is ongoing.
