YouTube Tests Hiding Dislike Button On Long-Form Videos

Times of India · technology

YouTube is experimenting with a new design that hides the dislike button for some users on long-form videos. Instead of being visible next to the like button, the thumbs-down icon is now located within the three-dot menu. This change, which appears to be primarily on the desktop website, means users must tap an extra time to register a dislike. YouTube previously removed the dislike button from Shorts entirely and hid public dislike counts in 2021, citing creator protection.
