Government Defends FCRA Bill's Asset Vesting Provision

The government has defended the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill's provision for vesting of assets, stating it improves upon existing law by enhancing legal certainty and accountability. The current law's lack of specificity on asset vesting leads to administrative difficulties. The State Bank of India, designated to receive foreign contributions, supported the bill's aims but sought more clarity on managing accounts when an organization's permission to receive donations ends.

सरकार ने विदेशी अंशदान (विनियमन) संशोधन विधेयक के संपत्ति अधिग्रहण के प्रावधान का बचाव किया है, यह कहते हुए कि यह कानूनी निश्चितता और जवाबदेही को बढ़ाकर मौजूदा कानून में सुधार करता है। संपत्ति अधिग्रहण पर मौजूदा कानून की विशिष्टता की कमी से प्रशासनिक कठिनाइयाँ होती हैं। विदेशी अंशदान प्राप्त करने के लिए नामित भारतीय स्टेट बैंक ने विधेयक के उद्देश्यों का समर्थन किया लेकिन किसी संगठन की दान प्राप्त करने की अनुमति समाप्त होने पर खातों के प्रबंधन पर अधिक स्पष्टता मांगी।
