Business Standard Markets · stocks
Bank of Baroda's shares climbed more than 5% after the lender announced its highest-ever quarterly net profit of ₹6,532 crore for Q2FY27. This record profit was driven by a significant 96% year-on-year increase in non-interest income, largely due to the sale of National Stock Exchange shares during its IPO. Net interest income also saw a healthy 9% rise. The bank's gross non-performing assets improved to 1.78%. Brokerages remain bullish, citing strong treasury gains and improved business momentum.
