She emphasized that global uncertainty is now a 'permanent situation,' necessitating policies that bolster economic strength. Sitharaman outlined four priorities for India to navigate global economic shocks over the next decade, including self-reliance in supply chains and encouraging private sector investment in R&D. She also called for maintaining open and trustworthy economic relations with other nations.

वित्त मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण ने कहा कि भारत को वैश्विक आर्थिक हालातों के सुधरने का इंतजार नहीं करना चाहिए, बल्कि आत्म-सुधार के लिए नीति-निर्माण पर ध्यान देना चाहिए। उन्होंने जोर देकर कहा कि वैश्विक अनिश्चितता अब एक 'स्थायी स्थिति' है, जिसके लिए आर्थिक मजबूती को बढ़ावा देने वाली नीतियों की आवश्यकता है। सीतारमण ने अगले दशक में वैश्विक आर्थिक झटकों से निपटने के लिए भारत की चार प्राथमिकताओं की रूपरेखा बताई, जिसमें आपूर्ति श्रृंखलाओं में आत्मनिर्भरता और अनुसंधान एवं विकास में निजी क्षेत्र के निवेश को प्रोत्साहित करना शामिल है। उन्होंने अन्य देशों के साथ खुले और भरोसेमंद आर्थिक संबंध बनाए रखने का भी आह्वान किया।
