Jasprit Bumrah to skip NZ ODIs, focus on Test series

Times of India · sports

Jasprit Bumrah is set to miss the upcoming five-ODI series against New Zealand as the Indian team management prioritizes his red-ball preparation. Although fully fit, Bumrah will increase his workload by playing a third India A fixture before joining the Test squad. This strategic move aims to ensure a fresh and ready Bumrah for the crucial Test series against New Zealand and Australia next year. Bumrah last played a multi-day match in late 2022, and the focus is on his availability for important World Test Championship matches.
