Hindustan Times · sports

Pranavi Urs has made history by becoming the first Indian woman to win a gold medal in golf at the Asian Games. She drew inspiration from golfing idol Rory McIlroy's comeback at the Masters to overcome a triple bogey on the third hole. Urs carded a 15-under 265, securing the victory with a composed performance marked by precise iron play. She hopes her win will bring greater attention to women's golf in India, similar to the impact of Aditi Ashok's Olympic performance.
