Supreme Court Seeks Centre's Reply on Central Vista Library Plan

The Supreme Court has issued a notice to the Centre, demanding a detailed response within three weeks regarding the proposed library arrangements under the Central Vista project. The court expressed concern over approximately two lakh books that have been packed in cartons since 2011. It seeks clarity on the size of the existing collection and the space allocated for it in the new facility. Senior advocate Hari Priya Padmanabhan has been appointed to assist the court in examining the matter, focusing on whether new infrastructure plans will impact library space.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने केंद्र को नोटिस जारी कर सेंट्रल विस्टा प्रोजेक्ट के तहत प्रस्तावित लाइब्रेरी व्यवस्थाओं पर तीन हफ्तों के भीतर विस्तृत जवाब मांगा है। कोर्ट ने लगभग 2 लाख किताबों के बारे में चिंता जताई है जो 2011 से डिब्बों में पैक हैं। यह नई सुविधा में मौजूदा संग्रह के आकार और उसके लिए आवंटित स्थान के बारे में स्पष्टता चाहता है। वरिष्ठ अधिवक्ता हरि प्रिया पद्मनाभन को इस मामले की जांच में अदालत की सहायता के लिए नियुक्त किया गया है, जो इस बात पर ध्यान केंद्रित करेंगी कि क्या नई बुनियादी ढांचा योजनाएं लाइब्रेरी के स्थान को प्रभावित करेंगी।
