Instagram head Adam Mosseri has stated that the platform will not introduce a dedicated dating feature. He explained that while users already find romantic connections on Instagram, creating a separate dating service with profiles and swipe tools would require significant additional work. Mosseri highlighted that existing features like Stories replies, Reels, and direct messages already facilitate conversations and connections. Instagram prefers to maintain its current casual dating function rather than compete directly with specialized dating apps by launching a standalone service.
