India's first double-decker expressway is under construction near Chennai Port, with a 21-kilometer stretch costing approximately ₹3,500 crore. The project, known as the Chennai Port-Maduravoyal Elevated Corridor, features a unique two-tier design. The upper level will handle heavy port-bound vehicles, while the lower level will accommodate city traffic. This ambitious infrastructure project is expected to significantly boost Chennai Port's capacity and improve connectivity to the Chennai-Bengaluru Expressway.

चेन्नई पोर्ट के पास भारत का पहला डबल-डेकर एक्सप्रेसवे बन रहा है। यह 21 किलोमीटर लंबा है और इसमें करीब ₹3,500 करोड़ का खर्च आएगा। इस प्रोजेक्ट को चेन्नई पोर्ट-मदुरवॉयल एलिवेटेड कॉरिडोर कहा जा रहा है और इसका डिज़ाइन बहुत अनोखा है, जिसमें दो मंजिलें होंगी। ऊपर वाली मंजिल पर भारी पोर्ट वाले वाहन चलेंगे और नीचे वाली मंजिल पर शहर का ट्रैफिक। इस बड़े इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर प्रोजेक्ट से चेन्नई पोर्ट की क्षमता बढ़ेगी और चेन्नई-बेंगलुरु एक्सप्रेसवे से कनेक्टिविटी भी सुधरेगी।
