Bengaluru Loses 44 Lakh Voters; Govt to Investigate Disappearance

Times of India · politics

Bengaluru's electorate has drastically shrunk by nearly 44 lakh voters, from 1.03 crore to 59.1 lakh, in the final roll published. This 43.1% fall is part of a larger deletion of 75 lakh voters across Karnataka. Ministers suspect technological manipulation and plan to review the roll, questioning where shifted voters have been added. The government aims to identify disenfranchised individuals and address concerns that the revision process may have targeted specific communities, particularly in constituencies held by BJP MLAs.
