Central Govt Employees' DA May Reach 65% By Jan 2027

Central government employees and pensioners are likely to see their DA or DR reach 65% by January 2027. This projection is based on the latest All India Consumer Price Index-Industrial Workers (AICPI-IW) data for August 2026. The index rose to 154.4 in August, an increase of 1.2 points from July's 153.2. This rise has pushed the 12-month average to 149.82, technically calculating the DA at approximately 65.05%. This increase will significantly boost the disposable income of millions of government workers and retirees.

केंद्रीय सरकारी कर्मचारियों और पेंशनभोगियों के लिए महंगाई भत्ता (DA) या महंगाई राहत (DR) जनवरी 2027 तक 65% तक पहुंचने की संभावना है। यह अनुमान अगस्त 2026 के लिए अखिल भारतीय उपभोक्ता मूल्य सूचकांक-औद्योगिक श्रमिकों (AICPI-IW) के नवीनतम आंकड़ों पर आधारित है। अगस्त में सूचकांक बढ़कर 154.4 हो गया, जो जुलाई के 153.2 से 1.2 अंक की वृद्धि है। इस वृद्धि ने 12 महीने के औसत को 149.82 तक पहुंचा दिया है, जिससे DA की तकनीकी गणना लगभग 65.05% हो गई है। इस वृद्धि से लाखों सरकारी कर्मचारियों और सेवानिवृत्त लोगों की खर्च योग्य आय में काफी वृद्धि होगी।
