Under this new policy, eligible families will receive a minimum of 25 square meter permanent homes in exchange for their existing jhuggis. दिल्ली लगभग 675 झुग्गी बस्तियों का पुनर्विकास करने जा रही है, जिसका लक्ष्य करीब 4 लाख परिवारों को स्थायी आवास प्रदान करना है। इस नई नीति के तहत, योग्य परिवारों को उनकी मौजूदा झुग्गियों के बदले 25 वर्ग मीटर का स्थायी घर मिलेगा। इन नए घरों में कमरे, रसोई, बाथरूम और बालकनी जैसी आवश्यक सुविधाएं शामिल होंगी। पुनर्विकास योजना का उद्देश्य विस्थापन को कम करना और इन क्षेत्रों के सुनियोजित विकास पर ध्यान केंद्रित करना है, जिससे निवासियों को बेहतर आवास और बुनियादी सुविधाएं मिल सकें।
