Chennai's 'Gateway' To Get Makeover With 680 Road Projects Approved

The Tamil Nadu government has approved 680 road and civic infrastructure projects, including the beautification of the 'Gateway of Chennai', at a cost of ₹131 crore. Work on the project, under the Chief Minister’s Integrated Urban Development Mission, will commence within a week. The beautification will cover a 4.8 km stretch from the airport to the Kathipara grade separator. This initiative aims to improve infrastructure across various zones within the Greater Chennai Corporation, addressing the rapid urban expansion and civic needs of the growing city.

तमिलनाडु सरकार ने 'गेटवे ऑफ चेन्नई' के सौंदर्यीकरण सहित 680 सड़क और नागरिक बुनियादी ढांचा परियोजनाओं को ₹131 करोड़ की लागत से मंजूरी दे दी है। मुख्यमंत्री की एकीकृत शहरी विकास मिशन के तहत परियोजना पर काम एक सप्ताह के भीतर शुरू हो जाएगा। सौंदर्यीकरण में हवाई अड्डे से कथिपारा ग्रेड सेपरेटर तक 4.8 किमी का हिस्सा शामिल होगा। इस पहल का उद्देश्य ग्रेटर चेन्नई कॉर्पोरेशन के विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में बुनियादी ढांचे में सुधार करना है, जो तेजी से शहरी विस्तार और बढ़ते शहर की नागरिक आवश्यकताओं को पूरा करेगा।
