FPIs Exit Financials, FMCG, Auto Stocks; Invest in IT Sector
Economic Times · business
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) withdrew approximately ₹8,634 crore from financial services during the first half of October, continuing a trend of selling across sectors like FMCG and auto. Rising US Treasury yields, high crude oil prices, and currency uncertainty are cited as reasons for the cautious investor sentiment. However, IT stocks attracted buying, with FPIs investing around ₹2,599 crore in the sector. Investors found value in IT stocks as valuations became more attractive, with some companies reporting encouraging results.
