Consumer products in the EU are found to contain illegal levels of restricted chemicals, according to environmental lawyer Hélène Duguy. These persistent chemicals, known as PFAS, have been detected in various products, food, water, soil, and even the human body. Despite existing regulations and available alternatives, Duguy highlights that weak enforcement and corporate resistance allow these hazardous substances to remain in circulation.
