Scientists from Scotland and Japan are preparing to send Scotch whisky into space for an aging experiment. Dubbed the 'Space Flavour' mission, it is scheduled to launch in 2028 via a small CubeSat to the International Space Station. The experiment aims to understand how the harsh space environment, with its extreme temperature fluctuations, affects the whisky's aging process. Unlike previous experiments, this whisky will be exposed directly to space, not a controlled environment. The mission, however, will not return the whisky to Earth, focusing solely on data collection.
