Expressway Builder Banned For 3 Years After Collapse

The National Highways Authority of India has banned PNC Infratech and its subsidiary for three years after a section of the Rs 4,200 crore Lucknow-Kanpur expressway collapsed shortly after its inauguration. The company cannot bid for new tenders during this period. The expressway, inaugurated on July 13, showed damage and subsidence within days, leading to court intervention. Toll collection is suspended, and the company is responsible for losses.

भारतीय राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग प्राधिकरण (NHAI) ने लखनऊ-कानपुर एक्सप्रेसवे के एक हिस्से के उद्घाटन के तुरंत बाद ढह जाने के कारण PNC Infratech और उसकी सहायक कंपनी पर तीन साल का प्रतिबंध लगा दिया है। इस दौरान कंपनी नई बोलियों में भाग नहीं ले सकेगी। 13 जुलाई को उद्घाटन हुए इस एक्सप्रेसवे में कुछ ही दिनों में दरारें आ गईं और धँसाव दिखने लगा, जिसके बाद कोर्ट ने हस्तक्षेप किया। टोल वसूली रोक दी गई है और नुकसान की भरपाई कंपनी को करनी होगी।
