धनबाद प्रशासन ने बरमूरी खटाल इलाके में करीब 20 एकड़ सरकारी जमीन पर बने 180 अवैध मकानों और एक मैरिज हॉल की पहचान की है। यह जमीन 2005 में मवेशी शेड के लिए अस्थायी रूप से आवंटित की गई थी, न कि आवासीय निर्माण के लिए। कब्ज़ेदारों को नोटिस जारी किए जाएंगे और अनधिकृत ढांचों को गिरा दिया जाएगा। निवासी, जिनमें से कई 2005 में विस्थापित हुए थे, बेदखली से पहले वैकल्पिक व्यवस्था की मांग को लेकर उपायुक्त से मिलने की योजना बना रहे हैं। प्रशासन ने इलाके में अवैध गतिविधियों की रिपोर्टों पर भी ध्यान दिया है।
