Panel Seeks Ban on Rallies During Exams for NTA Reforms

A Parliamentary panel has recommended withholding permission for rallies and public gatherings on days of crucial competitive examinations to prevent disturbances for candidates. The report, presented by the Standing Committee on Education, follows controversies surrounding the NEET exam. It suggests amending the Public Examinations Act to direct district administrations to ensure smooth traffic and law-and-order arrangements in advance. The committee also proposed allowing late-arriving students entry after signing an undertaking and conducting formalities separately to avoid disrupting exam focus.

एक संसदीय पैनल ने उम्मीदवारों के लिए व्यवधान को रोकने के लिए महत्वपूर्ण प्रतियोगी परीक्षाओं के दिनों में रैलियों और सार्वजनिक समारोहों की अनुमति रोकने की सिफारिश की है। शिक्षा पर स्थायी समिति द्वारा प्रस्तुत रिपोर्ट नीट परीक्षा के आसपास विवादों के बाद आई है। इसमें जिला प्रशासनों को पहले से सुचारू यातायात और कानून-व्यवस्था की व्यवस्था सुनिश्चित करने का निर्देश देने के लिए सार्वजनिक परीक्षा अधिनियम में संशोधन का सुझाव दिया गया है। समिति ने परीक्षा पर ध्यान केंद्रित करने में बाधा से बचने के लिए अंडरटेकिंग पर हस्ताक्षर करने के बाद देर से आने वाले छात्रों को प्रवेश देने और औपचारिकताएं अलग से आयोजित करने का भी प्रस्ताव दिया है।
