India is set to implement a new rule called CNAP. The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has directed telecom service providers to display the names of unknown callers on all smartphones. This service, similar to Truecaller, will show the name registered to the SIM card for incoming calls. It aims to help users identify callers and combat cyber fraud, as many international scams originate from abroad. Initially available for 4G and 5G users, plans are underway to extend it to 2G and 3G subscribers.
