Uttar Pradesh's Food Safety and Drug Administration has banned artificial food colours in chutneys served with popular snacks like samosas and momos. Prohibited industrial dyes were found in food items, prompting detailed guidelines for vendors. Restrictions also apply to kebabs and cotton candy, with advice to use natural ingredients like beetroot and coriander for colour. While artificial colours are permitted in baked goods and sweets under strict standards, their use in street food items like chutneys is now prohibited to ensure consumer safety.

उत्तर प्रदेश की खाद्य सुरक्षा और औषधि प्रशासन ने समोसे और मोमोज जैसे लोकप्रिय स्नैक्स के साथ परोसी जाने वाली चटनी में कृत्रिम खाद्य रंगों पर प्रतिबंध लगा दिया है। खाद्य पदार्थों में औद्योगिक रंगों का इस्तेमाल पाया गया था, जिसके बाद विक्रेताओं के लिए विस्तृत दिशानिर्देश जारी किए गए। कबाब और कॉटन कैंडी पर भी प्रतिबंध लागू होंगे, और रंग के लिए चुकंदर और धनिया जैसी प्राकृतिक सामग्री का उपयोग करने की सलाह दी गई है। जबकि बेक्ड सामान और मिठाइयों में सख्त मानकों के तहत कृत्रिम रंगों की अनुमति है, उपभोक्ता सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित करने के लिए अब चटनी जैसे स्ट्रीट फूड आइटम में उनके उपयोग पर रोक लगा दी गई है।
