JNU Ex-Professor & Congress MP Faces FIR Over 11 Female Students' Sexual Harassment Allegations

Delhi Police have registered an FIR against Angomcha Bimol Akoijam, a Congress Lok Sabha MP and former JNU professor, following a complaint by the university's Chief Security Officer. The case, filed at Vasant Kunj North police station, includes charges related to outraging the modesty of women under the new Indian Penal Code. Professor Akoijam has been dismissed from his job after 11 female students accused him of sexual harassment.

दिल्ली पुलिस ने कांग्रेस के लोकसभा सांसद और जेएनयू के पूर्व प्रोफेसर अंगोमचा बिमोल अकोइजम के खिलाफ विश्वविद्यालय के मुख्य सुरक्षा अधिकारी की शिकायत के बाद एफआईआर दर्ज की है। वसंत कुंज नॉर्थ पुलिस स्टेशन में दर्ज मामले में नई भारतीय दंड संहिता के तहत महिलाओं की लज्जा भंग करने से संबंधित आरोप शामिल हैं। प्रोफेसर अकोइजम को 11 महिला छात्रों द्वारा यौन उत्पीड़न के आरोपों के बाद उनकी नौकरी से बर्खास्त कर दिया गया है।
