Supreme Court Tells AP SEC Not To Declare Final Candidate List

The Supreme Court has emphasized that confidence in the election process is vital for democracy and the rule of law. The court directed the Andhra Pradesh State Election Commission (SEC) not to declare the final candidate list for 19 local bodies where the YSRCP alleged its candidates were prevented from filing nominations. The bench asked the SEC to decide by Thursday whether to grant additional time for nominations or postpone polls, considering the allegations of force and intimidation.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने इस बात पर जोर दिया है कि चुनाव प्रक्रिया में विश्वास लोकतंत्र और कानून के शासन के लिए महत्वपूर्ण है। कोर्ट ने आंध्र प्रदेश राज्य चुनाव आयोग (SEC) को 19 स्थानीय निकायों के लिए अंतिम उम्मीदवार सूची घोषित न करने का निर्देश दिया, जहाँ YSRCP ने आरोप लगाया था कि उसके उम्मीदवारों को नामांकन दाखिल करने से रोका गया था। बेंच ने SEC से गुरुवार तक यह तय करने को कहा कि क्या नामांकन के लिए अतिरिक्त समय दिया जाए या चुनावों को स्थगित किया जाए, जिसमें बल और धमकी के आरोपों पर विचार किया जाए।
