A friend of slain anti-drug activist Parwinder Singh Jhota allegedly attempted to set a medical store ablaze following Jhota's murder in Mansa. Jhota was shot by a chemist after a confrontation over the alleged sale of prohibited substances, with four others injured. Jhota's father is seeking protection for his grandchildren from Prime Minister Modi, alleging the Punjab government failed to provide security. He vowed to continue his son's fight against the drug menace, criticising the state government and calling for unity against drug abuse.
