RBI to Sell Rs 25,000 Cr Govt Securities Via OMO Auction

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) announced it will conduct an open market operation (OMO) sale auction of government securities worth Rs 25,000 crore on October 13. Six government securities with maturities between March 2030 and April 2034 will be offered. This move aims to absorb excess liquidity from the banking system, which is currently estimated to be around Rs 3.88 lakh crore. The RBI has been actively managing liquidity through various auctions to align overnight money market rates with the repo rate.

भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक (RBI) ने घोषणा की है कि वह 13 अक्टूबर को ₹25,000 करोड़ के सरकारी बॉन्ड की ओपन मार्केट ऑपरेशन (OMO) बिक्री नीलामी करेगा। मार्च 2030 और अप्रैल 2034 के बीच मैच्योरिटी वाले छह सरकारी बॉन्ड पेश किए जाएंगे। इस कदम का उद्देश्य बैंकिंग सिस्टम से अतिरिक्त लिक्विडिटी को सोखना है, जिसका अनुमान वर्तमान में लगभग ₹3.88 लाख करोड़ है। RBI ओवरनाइट मनी मार्केट रेट को रेपो रेट के साथ संरेखित करने के लिए विभिन्न नीलामियों के माध्यम से सक्रिय रूप से लिक्विडिटी का प्रबंधन कर रहा है।
