Bank Unions Announce 3-Day Nationwide Strike

Bank unions have announced a three-day nationwide strike to 30, impacting banking services. The United Forum of Bank Unions, representing around eight lakh employees, is demanding a five-day banking week and changes to the Performance Linked Incentive scheme. The Reserve Bank of India has asked banks to open to mitigate customer inconvenience, a move unions called desperate. This strike is expected to affect business worth approximately ₹2,000 crore, though ATM and digital services will remain operational.
