Diet Quality Linked To Rheumatoid Arthritis Risk, NIN Study Finds
The Hindu · india
A study by ICMR-National Institute of Nutrition (ICMR-NIN) in Hyderabad has found a strong link between diet quality and Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA). Adults with RA exhibited less diverse diets, lower micronutrient intake, and food habits promoting inflammation compared to healthy individuals. The research assessed dietary inflammatory potential, diversity, and micronutrient adequacy in 615 adults. Results showed RA patients had higher inflammatory potential and poorer dietary diversity and micronutrient adequacy. Researchers suggest further studies on dietary improvements for RA prevention or management.
