Russians are voting from Friday to Sunday in parliamentary elections for the State Duma, the lower house. This marks the first election since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022. The governing United Russia party, backing President Vladimir Putin, is expected to maintain its dominant position. Despite authorities presenting it as a chance for voters to have their say, critics note the absence of genuine opposition, suggesting the outcome is largely predetermined.
