Sun Pharma Secures Global Rights to Cholesterol Drug

Sun Pharma has acquired global licensing rights for Lerodalcibep, a once-monthly cholesterol-lowering injection, from US-based LIB Therapeutics. This deal grants Sun Pharma exclusive rights to commercialise and manufacture the drug outside the US and China, tapping into a significant $3.7 billion market for PCSK9 inhibitors. The European Union recently approved Lerodalcibep under the brand name Lyrokaul for adults with high cholesterol. This agreement aims to address unmet needs in cholesterol treatment, as many high-risk patients currently do not reach recommended LDL-C levels.
