Gir National Park in Gujarat's Junagadh has opened its jungle safari eight days ahead of its usual schedule, beginning. The early opening was attributed to an early end to the monsoon and completion of necessary roadwork. Tourists were rewarded on the first day with sightings of lionesses with cubs and male lions. The pleasant weather and lush greenery following the rains are enhancing the wildlife viewing experience.
