Michael Bloomberg's foundation has committed an additional $150 million to combat the overdose crisis, bringing its total funding to $335 million since 2018. This new investment will support six states, focusing on making opioid use disorder treatment available in prisons and emergency departments. The initiative also aims to expand access to naloxone, a life-saving overdose reversal medication. Since 2018, the foundation's efforts have helped reduce overdose deaths in focus states by nearly 15 percentage points more than the national average.
