Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma has directed the state health and family welfare department to identify and systematically address key health issues. Speaking at a conference on anemia, Sangma highlighted the state's past challenges in areas like vaccination and maternal mortality. He emphasized that while the state allocates a significant portion of its budget to health, its effectiveness needs scrutiny. The CM noted progress in reducing maternal deaths and stunting, alongside an increase in institutional deliveries, attributing these gains to concerted efforts and systematic work.
