Two Kuki-Zo Women Killed, Homes Torched

Two Kuki-Zo women were killed and several farmhouses were torched in Manipur's Tamenglong district on Tuesday. The deceased were identified as a 28-year-old nursing graduate and a 76-year-old widow. A Kuki-Zo body has directed civil society organisations not to bury victims allegedly killed by Naga armed groups, instead preserving bodies in cold storage as a protest against ongoing violence and lack of justice.

मणिपुर के तामेंगलोंग जिले में मंगलवार को दो कुकी-ज़ो महिलाओं की हत्या कर दी गई और कई फार्महाउस जला दिए गए। मरने वालों में एक 28 साल की नर्सिंग ग्रेजुएट और 76 साल की विधवा शामिल थीं। यह घटना हाल की हत्याओं के बाद हुई है, जिससे नागरिकों की सुरक्षा पर चिंता बढ़ गई है। एक कुकी-ज़ो समूह ने नागरिक समाज संगठनों को निर्देश दिया है कि नागा सशस्त्र समूहों द्वारा मारे गए पीड़ितों को दफनाया न जाए, बल्कि विरोध स्वरूप शवों को कोल्ड स्टोरेज में रखा जाए।
