Despite a surprise inspection by the Transport Minister in August, commuters at Bengaluru's Majestic bus station continue to face significant problems. Issues include chaotic traffic, poorly lit subways, insufficient buses on weekends, and bus bays occupied by private vehicles. Passengers also report alleged overcharging for luggage and discourteous staff. Basic facilities like toilets and drinking water remain inadequate, and unsafe pedestrian crossings and poor connectivity between transport modes add to the daily commute difficulties for lakhs of passengers.
