Sudha Pillai Committee Report Criticises KIIFB, Calls For Its Discontinuation

A committee headed by former Planning Commission member secretary Sudha Pillai has strongly criticised the Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB). The report, tabled in the State Assembly, found 'no case' for continuing KIIFB as a fund-raising and project-financing body, citing fiscal burden and constitutional deviations. This has led to a political clash between the ruling UDF and Opposition LDF. Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan stated the government is considering a probe into the flagged irregularities, while the Opposition leader defended KIIFB's role in completing ₹40,000 crore worth of development projects.

सुधा पिल्लई समिति की रिपोर्ट में KIIFB की आलोचना बंद करने की सिफारिश

पूर्व योजना आयोग की सदस्य सचिव सुधा पिल्लई की अध्यक्षता वाली एक समिति ने केरल इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर इन्वेस्टमेंट फंड बोर्ड (KIIFB) की कड़ी आलोचना की है। राज्य विधानसभा में पेश की गई रिपोर्ट में कहा गया है कि KIIFB को फंड जुटाने और प्रोजेक्ट फाइनेंसिंग बॉडी के तौर पर जारी रखने का कोई मामला नहीं बनता है, क्योंकि इससे वित्तीय बोझ पड़ता है और संवैधानिक विचलन होते हैं। इससे सत्ताधारी UDF और विपक्षी LDF के बीच राजनीतिक टकराव पैदा हो गया है। मुख्यमंत्री V.D. Satheesan ने कहा कि सरकार इन अनियमितताओं की जांच पर विचार कर रही है, जबकि विपक्ष के नेता ने ₹40,000 करोड़ के विकास प्रोजेक्ट्स को पूरा करने में KIIFB की भूमिका का बचाव किया है।
