Punjab Govt Forms Committee Led By Seechewal To Tackle Buddha Dariya Pollution

The Punjab government has formed a nine-to-ten-member committee, headed by Rajya Sabha MP Balbir Singh Seechewal, to address pollution in the Buddha Dariya. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann constituted the panel after meeting with officials and industry stakeholders. The committee has been given 15 days to examine the pollution problem and recommend concrete measures to prevent untreated waste discharge. Authorities have been directed to strictly enforce pollution control norms and take action against violators. The panel will focus on improving waste management, dairy effluent treatment, industrial discharge, and monitoring mechanisms.

पंजाब सरकार ने बुद्ध दरिया में प्रदूषण से निपटने के लिए राज्यसभा सांसद बलबीर सिंह सीचेवाल की अध्यक्षता में नौ से दस सदस्यों की एक समिति बनाई है। मुख्यमंत्री भगवंत मान ने अधिकारियों और उद्योग जगत के हितधारकों के साथ बैठक के बाद इस पैनल का गठन किया। समिति को प्रदूषण की समस्या की जांच करने और बिना उपचारित कचरे के निर्वहन को रोकने के लिए ठोस उपाय सुझाने के लिए 15 दिन का समय दिया गया है। अधिकारियों को प्रदूषण नियंत्रण नियमों को सख्ती से लागू करने और उल्लंघनकर्ताओं के खिलाफ कार्रवाई करने का निर्देश दिया गया है। पैनल अपशिष्ट प्रबंधन, डेयरी बहिःस्राव उपचार, औद्योगिक निर्वहन और निगरानी तंत्र में सुधार पर ध्यान केंद्रित करेगा।
