Bihar District Hospitals Get Over 950 Surgical Units To Boost Care

Bihar's health department has installed over 950 of 1,947 surgical equipment units in district hospitals, costing approximately Rs 37 crore. This initiative aims to enhance surgical services and reduce patient referrals to higher medical centres. The equipment, identified based on operational theatre needs, covers 50 categories of medical devices. Health Minister Nishant Kumar stated the goal is to ensure patients receive essential treatment locally, saving them travel and expenses. The department is also expanding specialist services to enable district hospitals to perform 76 types of surgical procedures.

बिहार के स्वास्थ्य विभाग ने जिला अस्पतालों में 1,947 सर्जिकल उपकरण इकाइयों में से 950 से ज़्यादा लगा दी हैं, जिसमें करीब 37 करोड़ रुपये का खर्च आया है। इस पहल का मकसद सर्जिकल सेवाओं को बेहतर बनाना और मरीजों को बड़े मेडिकल सेंटरों में रेफर करने की ज़रूरत को कम करना है। ऑपरेशन थिएटर की ज़रूरतों के हिसाब से पहचाने गए ये उपकरण 50 तरह के मेडिकल डिवाइस को कवर करते हैं। स्वास्थ्य मंत्री निशांत कुमार ने कहा कि इसका लक्ष्य यह सुनिश्चित करना है कि मरीजों को ज़रूरी इलाज स्थानीय स्तर पर ही मिले, जिससे उनका आना-जाना और खर्च बच सके।
