Minister Warns Industries On Pollution, Water Use

Gujarat's Forest and Environment Minister Arjun Modhwadia has urged industries in Surat to adopt sustainable practices and implement pollution control and water-recycling systems. He warned that non-compliance could lead to serious disruptions, citing examples of textile units in Rajasthan and Rajkot that were shut down for polluting water sources. Modhwadia also expressed concern over the unsustainable large-scale extraction of groundwater by industries. He highlighted upcoming Central Pollution Control Board rules mandating 70% water recycling by 2030, urging proactive adoption of these measures.

गुजरात के वन और पर्यावरण मंत्री अर्जुन मोडवाडिया ने सूरत के उद्योगों से टिकाऊ तरीके अपनाने और प्रदूषण नियंत्रण व पानी रीसाइक्लिंग सिस्टम लागू करने का आग्रह किया है। उन्होंने चेतावनी दी कि नियमों का पालन न करने पर गंभीर बाधाएं आ सकती हैं, और राजस्थान व राजकोट की कपड़ा इकाइयों के उदाहरण दिए जो पानी के स्रोतों को प्रदूषित करने के कारण बंद कर दी गई थीं। मोडवाडिया ने उद्योगों द्वारा भूजल के बड़े पैमाने पर हो रहे गैर-टिकाऊ दोहन पर भी चिंता जताई। उन्होंने आने वाले Central Pollution Control Board के नियमों पर प्रकाश डाला, जो 2030 तक 70% पानी रीसाइक्लिंग को अनिवार्य करते हैं, और इन उपायों को सक्रिय रूप से अपनाने का आग्रह किया।
