Trichy Butterfly Conservatory Celebrates Month-Long Conservation Awareness Program

The Tropical Butterfly Conservatory in Trichy celebrated its first 'butterfly month' in September, organizing programs to educate students on conservation and habitat creation. Initiatives included teaching students to grow host and nectar plants using organic fertilizers, with suggestions like curry leaf and Lantana. Various activities like drawing, quizzes, and photography sessions were conducted for primary, secondary, and college students. Non-profit organizations collaborated with the forest department for this event. The conservatory, spanning 25 acres, houses over 450 plant varieties and 131 butterfly species.

तिरुचि के ट्रॉपिकल बटरफ्लाई कंज़र्वेटरी ने सितंबर में अपना पहला 'बटरफ्लाई मंथ' मनाया, जिसमें छात्रों को संरक्षण और आवास निर्माण के बारे में शिक्षित करने के लिए कार्यक्रम आयोजित किए गए। पहलों में छात्रों को करी पत्ता और लैंटाना जैसे सुझावों का उपयोग करके जैविक उर्वरकों से मेजबान और अमृत पौधे उगाना सिखाना शामिल था। प्राथमिक, माध्यमिक और कॉलेज के छात्रों के लिए चित्रकला, प्रश्नोत्तरी और फोटोग्राफी सत्र जैसी विभिन्न गतिविधियाँ आयोजित की गईं। इस कार्यक्रम के लिए गैर-लाभकारी संगठनों ने वन विभाग के साथ सहयोग किया। 25 एकड़ में फैले इस कंज़र्वेटरी में 450 से अधिक पौधों की किस्में और 131 तितली प्रजातियाँ हैं।
