CPI(M) politburo member G. Ramakrishnan has called upon Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay to pass a resolution in the State Assembly to scrap the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Ramakrishnan alleged that the BJP-led Union government has used SIR to delete approximately 13.5 crore voters nationwide. He cited Kerala's Assembly, which unanimously passed a similar resolution, as an example for Tamil Nadu to follow. The party leader also emphasized the need for monitoring the distribution of fine variety rice and addressing consumer complaints promptly.
