लोकसभा समिति ने कहा है कि किसी न्यायाधीश के अकेले फैसले से वैधानिक जांच खत्म नहीं हो सकती, खासकर जब काफी सबूत पेश किए जा चुके हों। समिति ने जोर देकर कहा कि जांच का जारी रहना जस्टिस वर्मा की भागीदारी पर निर्भर नहीं करता। उन्होंने कहा कि जस्टिस वर्मा को समिति के सामने अपनी दलीलें रखने का पूरा मौका दिया गया था।
