Producer Antony Perumbavoor has responded to fan disappointment over Mohanlal's limited screen time in 'Jailer 2'. He stated that neither Mohanlal nor his team were aware of the extent of the editing, which led to scenes shown in the trailer being cut from the final version. Perumbavoor acknowledged that Malayali audiences were unhappy with the decision. Separately, body double Joby Kodakara clarified his minimal role, stating only his hands and legs were visible in a few shots and his face was not used.
